GLOCK 42
For those discerning shooters who wanted the smallest GLOCK possible, the company responded with the now familiar G42 in 380 AUTO with a super understated appearance and easy-to-shoot attributes. The G42 includes all the highlights that GLOCK customers have come to appreciate, from the GLOCK SAFE ACTION frame with its many built-in safety features to the brand’s proven reliability and durability.
The G42 Slim Subcompact is the smallest Glock pistol ever introduced, making it perfect for pocket carry and other deep camouflage carry strategies. The slim top of the G42 fits in the hands of any shooter; explicitly offers shooters with more modest hands a nice option they will probably never see before. Glock’s smallest pistol uses a similar safe action system found on all Glock pistols and is backed by over 25 years of design greatness. – PARTE #: UI4250201 – UPC: 764503910616
The GLOCK® 42 semi automatic pistol is a slim, subcompact self-loading pistol designed explicitly for covered transport. Built with similar materials and quality controls like all GLOCK autoloading pistols, the G42 is a portable firearm you can trust right now. Inside, the GLOCK 42 uses a similar firing pin, short recoil mechanism and locked barrel like the larger outlined GLOCK pistols and uses a double-force spring like the Gen4 pistols.
The Safe-Action shooting system makes shooting reliable in specific circumstances. The textured polymer grip offers a strong grip and, considering it is highly concealable, gives shooters enough surface area for extreme control. The white touch sight and the rear sight with white section allow for quick access in low light conditions. The length, shape, finger rest and size of the trigger opening are equivalent to larger guns and the trigger is the same size and shape as the colored soft triggers used on Gen4 guns, making them generally recognizable from the people who, from now on, use GLOCK pistols. The GLOCK 42 semi automatic pistol is a solid and easy to maintain pistol, ideal for regular transport. The G42 comes with 2 super solid 6-round single-stack magazines.
- Slim, subcompact for concealed carry
- Same internal mechanism as a larger GLOCK
- Dual recoil spring assembly
- Safe-Action trigger system
- Rough grip texturing
- Drift adjustable rear sight

glock 42 problems
As I have reviewed more and more complaints regarding the problems with the Glock 42, they all appear to be related to the ammunition. The rounds are catching on the magazine, or they do not eject properly. They lock the slide or they do not cycle at all. We even saw some double feeds on occasion.
Fashion
Just when Glock decided to design the Glock 42, it had been years and years since the last model was delivered. This made it a gigantic measure of expectations for this model. With little promotion, gun buyers have been drooling at the opportunity to see the upcoming Glock 9mm. The promotions didn’t give much information about the gun and raised the suspicion that the 42 would be a 9mm. That assumption was off base. This change of plans may have caused problems for the Glock 42.
Rather, the pistol was designed in a more modest .380 to the dismay of thousands of Glock fans. Glock had to spend as little as possible on another pocket pistol. They offered the intense expression that the most modest main thing in the Glock 42 that lights up every time is a Zippo lighter. Glock has a reputation for being one of the most reliable pistols ever made. Why accept that this firearm can be unique?
initial feelings
Immediately, those who bought the 42 were dazzled. It was not the smallest pistol produced and was undeniably longer than most .380s. Either way, it wasn’t hard to hide, light on the shoulder, nice in the hand, and even had original, usable sights. For some people it was extraordinary value. The rationale for this answer was that most firearms buyers will not buy a .380 unless they accept a .380 from now on. Knowing what’s in store goes a long way for a happy gun owner.
Despite being a .380, this weapon is undoubtedly a Glock. It looks a lot like a more modest variant of the Glock 19. The mutability is a bit more limited, so remember that the grip is arguably thinner than a Glock 26. It’s undeniably bigger than some .380s, but still perfect. to hide and carry or as a pocket firearm. So what’s the deal with the Glock 42?
What’s the problem?
With the gun close at hand, he discharges more serenely than most .380s. Either way, gun shooting is where problems can arise. Most Glocks are advertised to fire just about any bullet that can fit into the magazine. This is not true for the 42. Heavier forced high settings and surprisingly some lighter shots would not have fired with this gun.
By far the majority of shots go through this nice and elegantly discharged weapon. In any case we have seen it as the 100gr. Hits from Bison Bore + P would freeze the slide with the settings still not fired. The Opportunity Munitions 100 barns have the same problem, although the much lighter Barnes XPD didn’t trigger the gun in any way.
One of the problems with the Glock 42 is due to the force spring. It had all the characteristics of being tightly twisted in contrast to the twin 42s models. This implies that your ideal ammo was planning to drop somewhere in range. You didn’t need too heavy a round, but you also hoped to avoid particularly light settings.
The truth is, this isn’t an uncommon problem for .380 pistols. Sure, it’s a Glock and that might raise our guesswork. The other big problem concerns the barrel. Protests have been made that his G42 shut down due to barrel damage. When the barrel was returned to Glock, they said the ammunition had damaged the barrel. It was just standard ammunition for manufacturing plants.
As I have examined a growing number of objections related to the problems with the Glock 42, they all seem, by all accounts, related to ammunition. Shots are piling up in the magazine or not firing as expected. Either they block the slide or they don’t ride by any stretch of the imagination. We also saw double streams from time to time. I accept that using ammunition that did not fit this weapon damaged it even more. Owners who load the pistol with the correct ammo the first time are fine as long as they stick to that equivalent ammo. Is it really a consumer obligation to find out which ammo will work best in their Glock?
The answer
The surprising part of this story is that one organization, however legitimate Glock may be, seemed to be preventing predominantly sleazy polls from getting their firearm. Much more of the feedback I learned about the Glock 42 was complaints. Not loving a weapon is certainly a certain thing, however denying the problem and refusing to fix it is a completely different creature. Not liking the 42, Glock was losing business 42. By openly saying that there is no problem with the Glock 42, Glock is losing Glock customers for life. To say the least was disheartening.
Then, at that point, comes the contortion. Glock never changed their story and never admitted the flaws of the gun, but they changed the plan slightly. A co-worker of mine bought a 42 when he first bought it because it had been available for some time. So after hearing the rumors about minor changes to the plan, he bought a second 42 for a correlation.
What Changed?
One of the most noticeable changes to the Glock 42 was the magazine. The first magazine had sharp, rough edges which caused handling problems. The edges of the new magazine are more discreet and narrow, and the new shape adds space on the slide near the slide stop switch. The right half of the magazine is also shaved where it interacts with the firing bar.
The rear derailleur is on the carriage stop switch. This was clearly the direct result of an unexpected part number compared to our other 42. The new carriage latch has been adjusted right where it meets the magazine devotee. The last part was basically more math with dots and dots.
The firing tool housing has been adjusted towards the highest point of the piece. Added a long lip cut in the upper right corner, just in front of the ejector. This could work on the round’s broadcast and its launch.
Also, the casing has been altered in one way or another. It is not clear what changes have been made, however the new casings are distinguished with a “1” or a “2” to recognize which variant the weapon has. To be sure, most of the modified parts are distinguished by these numbers. This is a great component that you won’t find on other Glock models. Clearly Glock saw the need to work on his article. Despite these progressions made in the production plan, there have been a few occasions where Glock has helped the owners. There are many times that Glock has recognized the problems and replaced parts of the gun to completely fix it or replaced the firearm. Despite the absence of public induction of problems, it is good to realize that they are making the best decision.
Those who used the Glock 42 with the new settings were satisfied. Apparently all issues with round care or casting have been resolved. You never have to be specific about your ammo choice again, or at this point that’s what it looks like. There is a much larger group of examples of owners who are still canceling the first variant.
End Glock 42 Problems
As may be obvious, the Glock 42’s problems have been solved. This doesn’t help customers who are a long time behind and still having problems. However, assuming you are one of those owners, I urge you to contact Glock one more time. Tell them that you are aware of the changes that have been made and that you would like a quality article, no more, no less. I’m speculating that you might find them essentially more responsive than the last time you called.
For those who have never claimed a Glock 42, I wouldn’t stop getting one in light of the above issues. The truth is, I’ve generally settled for every Glock I’ve finished at some point. The problems with the Glock 42 are older. If you’re good with a .380 and wouldn’t mind a two finger grip, check it out. I guess you will be dazzled.
